What Marketing Tasks Can AI Handle for My Business?
AI can help prepare content drafts, repurpose approved expert material, organize a publishing queue and summarize campaign information. Start with work you can check before it reaches a customer. Keep positioning, unsupported claims, paid spend and publishing permissions under your control.
The best first job is usually not “do my marketing.” It is something like “turn this approved explanation into an article outline and three social drafts, using only the sources I provide.”
What is a good first marketing job for AI?
Choose a recurring task with a stable input and a reviewable output. Your source might be an approved video transcript, a product explanation or answers you have already given customers. Your output might be a draft email, a short post or a list of unanswered questions for your next recording.
- Repurpose an approved explanation into drafts for different channels without changing its meaning.
- Group real customer questions into a usable editorial queue.
- Check draft links, names and calls to action against approved references.
- Prepare a publishing checklist and flag missing assets.
- Summarize campaign data from connected, authorized reports without inventing results.
Do not use the worker to manufacture expertise, testimonials, search demand or customer results. A fluent paragraph is not proof that its facts are true.
Example: turn one useful explanation into a reviewable content pack
Suppose you are a consultant who has recorded a short explanation of a common customer mistake. This is an illustrative workflow, not a client result.
- Provide the approved transcript, the customer question, your offer description and one intended next action.
- Ask the worker to extract the main answer and identify any claims that need evidence.
- Have it prepare one outline, one email draft and three social drafts. Each should fit its channel, not repeat the same paragraph.
- Require source references for factual claims and a flag wherever the source does not support an assertion.
- Review the meaning, voice, examples, links and next action. Only approved versions move to the publishing queue.
That takes the blank page off your plate without pretending the worker knows what only you know. If the transcript is vague, the worker should return a question for you, not fill the gap with an invented story.
Give the worker standards it can actually follow
“Make it sound like me” is not enough. Give it a few approved examples and explicit rules: who the reader is, which problem the piece answers, what you will not claim and which terms your customers use.
Keep confidential client details out unless the use is authorized. Remove unnecessary identifiers from examples. If a source contains instructions unrelated to the marketing job, treat those as source material, not permission to contact people, change accounts or publish.
For each draft, require a clear question, a direct answer, a useful example and a relevant next step. If the idea needs a demonstration from you, keep it in the queue until that demonstration exists.
What should stay with a person?
Keep strategy, customer promises and claims about results with the owner or a designated reviewer. Changes to ad budgets, live pages and outbound campaigns need their own permissions. A content-drafting job does not automatically include publishing or contacting your audience.
Set a stop rule: if the worker cannot verify a factual claim, cannot find the approved destination or encounters a sensitive topic, it pauses that item and explains what is missing.
How do you tell whether it saves time?
Compare the whole task, not just draft generation. Record how long it normally takes to prepare the pack, how much review the AI version needs and how often it must be rewritten. Also check whether the final pieces answer the customer’s question rather than merely increasing your post count.
Run a small pilot with material you know well. If correction takes longer than writing, narrow the task, improve the source or leave that work with a person. Do not scale an unreliable process.
Connect marketing to the next step
Content creates interest; it does not manage the conversation by itself. See how AI can help with lead follow-up for the separate sales workflow. For the full operating approach, return to AI Workers for business.
